Cita da Jestas su 21 Dicembre 2005, 16:50Mi pareva giàsto fare un thread apposito sulle recensioni, professionali e non, uscite sul web. come ho già segnalato sul mega-thread generico su V ci sono varie review su www.aintitcool.com (sette, mi pare) scritte da gente che ha visto l'anteprima del film all'edizione annuale della maratona "butt-numb-a-thon" (lol, capisco solo ora il significato di questo nomignolo) tenutasi in Texas di recente (andate sul sito e cercate "v for vendetta" o "bnat 7"). Tutte ottime, otterrime.

Anche questa positiva (anche se nel cappello finale, che ora vi cito, non manca di fare il solito commento snobbish sui sequel di Matrix)
Although some marketing materials aim to position this as an action film, viewers expecting a thrill ride might be disappointed. V engages in a couple of satisfying crime-fighting set pieces, but the story is more occupied with mystery and intrigue. Happily, it almost is entirely free of the hollow pomposity that marred the Wachowschis' last two "Matrix" films. Here, Alan Moorès graphic novel and the history of real-world oppressive governments is more than enough, leaving no need for the screenwriters to invent hokey mythologies and plenty of room to fantasize about revolution.

It's okay to hate me for having this on my 2005 Best of List. But you have to understand, I went through an awful lot to make sure I saw this in 2005 ' and I did it all on the blind fucching faith that it was going to do justice to Alan Moore and David Lloyd's original work. There's a part of my that believes the movie was the most lucid fantastic dream I've had all year. And it is for that reason alone that it is not Number 1. The movie I have in my head felt like a brilliant dangerous dream of a film. It made you want put on a mask and blow up shit. I was applauding dialogue like it was action scenes, coveting gestures like they were FX show pieces.
The story about the girl that dares to be different is a brilliant short story buried in this film. And Natalie Portman does the best work of her career. She's absolutely raw emotionally. Just fantastic. And then there's Hugo Weaving. You never see his face ' hell, if all you knew him from was his Agent Smith ' you're about to meet an entirely different Hugo Weaving. His V voice is brilliant. The lines he has and the delivery of those lines' they're exquisite. It's as perfect as Karloff reading Seuss or Olivier doing Shakespeare or Samuel L Jackson doing Tarantino dialogue. It's bliss.
The music, Biddel's brilliant camera work, the design, the editing and the story telling, it's just a dream. I absolutely love this film. I crave it. Everyone I know that saw it is dying to see it again. We sit around and look at one another and start talching about it. It comes March 17th ' and for those that have seen it' trust me ' it seems an eternity away.
